Arivee en Dijon...

It is now 2:15 pm and I am here in lovely Dijon... We got up this morning and headed for the train station where we hopped on the TGV for a 1 and a half hour run to Dijon. The train ride was COOL!!! The TGV tops out at 185 mph, so it is a quick jaunt from Paris. I was enjoying the high speed and the beautiful scenery. I will tell you what, the french countryside is very pretty. It was nice to see some cows and some hay bales (although they have the round bales over here, though - definitely no haro beds to be seen).

We pulled into the Dijon station about 12:15pm and took a quick taxi over to our hotel. Our room is about 3 times the size of our room in Paris, which is nice! Dijon (or what little I've seen of it) is pretty cool. Its a lot quieter and more laid back than Paris. It has a pretty quaint feel to it. We're smack dab in the middle of a huge shopping district. In fact, I passed a huge shoe shop (calm down, Kat/Jalene) when I was walking around at lunch. We're actually staying across the street from a hat shop. Yep, hats, and every kind of possible hat you could want. Maybe I should get a french fedora or something.

We're having a big welcome dinner tonight, so I am looking forward to that. I think I'm most excited about having some authentic french food without having to order it myself.

Anyways, hope all is well. I'm thinking about all of you. Miss you all.
